Mommy Makeover
Testimonial
A personal story of confidence, recovery, and transformation after breast lift with implants and an extended modified tummy tuck with Dr. Charles Slack.
“I Decided to Do Something About It”
After three C-sections, breastfeeding, abdominal muscle separation, and a difficult third C-section recovery, this patient felt increasingly self-conscious about areas that exercise alone could not change.
She had worked hard to improve her fitness and saw progress, but her abdomen and breasts remained persistent concerns. Clothing fit differently, she found herself constantly adjusting shirts, and she became more aware of her midsection in mirrors and photographs.
Eventually, she decided to explore surgical options and scheduled a consultation with Dr. Charles Slack.
“In my head, my belly entered the room before I did.”
Even after seeing positive results from working out, the areas affected by pregnancy and surgery remained frustratingly resistant to change.
Her Experience With Dr. Slack
I don’t think I’ve had a chance to say all this to you at our appointments, I get pretty shy in person.
Before surgery, I was so self-conscious. After 3 c-sections and breastfeeding, my breasts were deflated. I had complications with my 3rd c-section, so my wound had to be packed and heal from the inside out. It was unsightly and showed like a shelf so to speak in my swimsuit.
I had a rectus diastasis, so my belly stuck out. In my head, my belly entered the room before I did. I started working out. I saw great results over time but not in these areas. They were stubborn to change.
I caught a glimpse of myself in mirrors or windows and immediately sucked in my belly. I wore padded bras. I had a daily move to stretch out the waist of my shirts so they wouldn’t cling to my belly.
One day, I was visiting my Mother-in-law, who has Alzheimer’s. She lovingly placed her hand on my belly and asked if I was expecting again. I obviously wasn’t angry, but felt she was speaking truthfully. I decided to do something about it since I had tried everything in my own power.
I went into surgery very nervous, but Dr. Slack and his staff always put me at ease. Dr. Slack was much more detailed in what he could AND couldn’t do for me. Maybe not what he couldn’t, but what he shouldn’t.
Another doctor approved huge implants that I was unsure of. Dr. Slack took measurements and gave me very precise parameters about what was appropriate for my body.
I had a Mommy Makeover in July 2022 with breast implants with a breast lift and an extended modified tummy tuck, thereby fixing my scar and repairing my muscle.
My recovery was very smooth and anytime I had a concern, I was pleasantly surprised that Dr. Slack called back immediately.
Now, I have confidence. I love clothes because they fit right. I don’t stretch out my shirts anymore. I don’t avoid mirrors; they don’t bother me now.
I’m wearing two-piece swimsuits at age 53. Recently, for our 30th anniversary, I had boudoir photos done for my husband. I NEVER would have done that before surgery.
What the Mommy Makeover Addressed
Her treatment plan was designed around the changes that bothered her most rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
Breast Volume
Implants were used to restore volume lost after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Breast Position
A breast lift was performed to improve shape and address deflation and drooping.
Abdominal Contour
An extended modified tummy tuck addressed loose tissue and improved the abdominal silhouette.
Muscle Separation
Her rectus diastasis was repaired as part of the abdominal procedure.
C-Section Scar
The surgical plan incorporated correction of the scar from her complicated third C-section.
Confidence
The patient describes greater comfort in clothing, swimwear, mirrors, and photographs after recovery.

“Very Precise Parameters About What Was Appropriate for My Body”
One of the most important parts of her story was not simply the procedures selected, but the planning that came before them.
She had previously discussed much larger implants with another surgeon but was uncomfortable with that direction. According to her testimonial, Dr. Slack carefully measured her anatomy and explained what he believed would be appropriate for her body.
That individualized approach is central to Mommy Makeover planning because the right combination of procedures, implant size, incision pattern, and abdominal correction can vary substantially from one patient to another.
“Dr. Slack was much more detailed in what he could AND couldn’t do for me.”
“Now, I Have Confidence.”
Her description of the result goes beyond measurements or clothing sizes. She talks about no longer stretching out her shirts, feeling comfortable looking in mirrors, wearing two-piece swimsuits at age 53, and doing something for her 30th anniversary that she says she never would have considered before surgery.
“I don’t avoid mirrors; they don’t bother me now.”
Your Treatment Plan Should Be Just as Individual
If pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes, or previous C-sections have left changes that exercise cannot address, a consultation with Dr. Slack can help you understand your options.
